I was redoing a page from the Victoria's Secret post, and came across a picture of young Adriana Lima in the Sexy Delicious segment of 2005 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and it inspired me to do a post on the evolution of this amazing brand.
FUN FACTS
~Victoria's Secret was actually started by a man, Ray Raymond, in San Fransico 1977, who felt embarrased trying to purchase lingerie for his wife in a department store enviornment. He then opened the first Victoria's Secret store at Stanford Shopping Centre in Palo Alto, and quickly followed it with a mail-order catologue and three other stores.
~ The stores were meant to create a comfortable enviornent for men, with wood-paneled walls, Victorian details and helpful sales staff. Instead of racks of bras and panties in every size, there were single styles, paired together and mounted on the wall in frames. Men could browse for styles for women and sales staff would help estimate the appropriate size, pulling from inventory in the back rooms.
